Due to dust from the Caspian Lowland, which entered Ukraine on the morning of September 30, deterioration in air quality was recorded in many regions.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.
The press service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine provided recommendations on how to protect yourself from pollution.
“A deterioration in air quality is observed in Ukraine due to dust from the Caspian region. In this regard, the Ministry of Health provides advice on how to protect yourself from pollution,” the report says.
To protect yourself from pollution, you must:
— not go outside unless absolutely necessary;
— turn off ventilation systems that take air from the street;
— use a respirator or protective mask outside;
— wet clean your home and workplaces;
— close doors and windows;
— drink plenty of water.
As meteorologists note, fine dust settles in Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions. It also extends to the territory of Kyiv, Zhytomyr and northern Vinnytsia regions.
According to preliminary data, the situation will persist until October 4, when the wind direction will change to the south and west.
