In Ukraine they want to create different types preschool institutions in order to improve the situation with access to kindergartens.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to an interview with Evgenia Smirnova.
Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Evgeniya Smirnova noted that this is necessary in order to have an understanding of which model is the most effective and successful in different conditions.
According to her, this is provided for in the law “On preschool education”, which will come into force on July 7, 2025. She explained that now the document only contains ideas, working groups are working on the details of their implementation.
Smirnova explained that today it is very important to have different types of preschool education institutions, and “time will tell which model is effective in different situations and conditions.” The idea of alternative preschool education institutions did not arise spontaneously – such institutions have been successfully operating in different countries for a long time.
What types of kindergartens are they planning to introduce?
Mobile kindergarten –it is a bus or other vehicle equipped with all the necessary materials for working with children. It arrives on schedule to different settlements, stops where there is shelter. Parents know its schedule and bring their children to classes.
Special kindergarten for children with special educational needs – a type of educational organization that provides preschool education to children aged two to seven or eight years with special educational needs due to physical, mental, intellectual or sensory disabilities, behavioral disorders.
Family (family) kindergarten— is a preschool institution located in a private space – a house or apartment adapted to provide educational services. Home kindergartens are popular in Ireland and France.
Mini-kindergarten for up to five children— the idea is similar to a family garden. Working groups will now decide how exactly it will work.
Center for Pedagogical Partnership — these preschool education institutions will help parents in raising children who do not attend kindergarten. The educational process here will take place with the obligatory participation of parents or one of them.
Preschool center— is a kindergarten for a small group of children, which is opened at an institution – a library, a ministry or even a business organization. The advantage of cells is that they do not require a separate large building if there are few children in the community.
