It became known that The Ukrainian state is making confident steps in developing its own defense industry, producing high-tech weapons that previously did not exist in the country.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the evening address of the leader of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his Telegram.
Zelensky noted that Ukraine attracts the attention of not only partner countries, but also the world's leading defense companies. This is confirmed by the active participation of representatives from more than 30 countries and about 300 companies in the second forum of defense industries, which was recently held in Kyiv.
“It is absolutely fundamental for Ukraine that interest is growing not only from partner countries, but also from defense companies around the world in cooperation with us, in our defense sector,” the president noted.
Some of the agreements reached at the forum have already been implemented: foreign investment has begun to flow into Ukrainian defense production, and localization projects are actively developing. Some of them are at the preparation stage, which indicates prospects for further deepening of international cooperation.
Among the key achievements, Zelensky especially highlighted the production of 155-mm artillery shells that meet NATO standards, as well as the creation of long-range and naval drones, which can significantly affect the development of Ukraine's defense capabilities. In addition, a new base for the use of Western armored vehicles is being actively created, which includes the repair and maintenance of high-tech units.
One of the experts also named the real reason why the West is in no hurry to help Ukraine defeat Russia.
