In anticipation the presidential elections in the United States, which will take place next month, the political race between candidates is heating up.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the Washington Times.

The latest polls show Vice President Kamala Harris' lead over her primary challenger, former President Donald Trump, narrowing. However, the results show Harris still has a slight advantage nationally, though her lead is shrinking.

According to the poll by NPR, PBS News, and Marist, Harris leads with 50 percent of the vote to Trump's 48 percent. However, that advantage is within the margin of statistical error, making the race truly unpredictable.

Moreover, Trump leads Harris by 4 percentage points among independent voters, adding to the incumbent’s challenge to win over swing voters.

The gender gap in support for the candidates has also become a key factor in this campaign. According to the poll, 57% of men support Trump, while Harris has secured the support of 41% of the male electorate. However, among women, Harris is confidently ahead, ahead of Trump by 18 points. This gap in preferences could be a decisive factor in the final stages of the election campaign.

While Harris maintains a leading position nationally, her lead has narrowed significantly, underscoring the seriousness of the upcoming battle for votes. Trump continues to enjoy the support of a significant part of the electorate, especially among men and independent voters, and his economic policies remain popular.

Against this backdrop, a fresh forecast has emerged regarding further developments in the war in Ukraine and how it could affect the US elections.
