The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to actively prepare defensive lines in the eastern direction, paying special attention to the Dnipropetrovsk region, which may be at risk in the event of a breakthrough by Russian troops.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the Ukrainian Telegram news service.
The main work is concentrated outside the city of Pokrovsk, which has become a strategically important point for both sides of the conflict. Moreover, it is known that Pokrovsk is an important transport hub in eastern Ukraine, through which significant supply and logistics routes pass.
It is noted that the loss of control over this city could open the way for Russian troops to the Dnipropetrovsk region. Currently, the enemy is located north of the city of Selidovo, conducting offensive operations with the aim of reaching the borders of Pokrovsk. This movement creates additional tension for the Ukrainian defense and requires a prompt response from the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively engaged in the construction of fortifications behind Pokrovsk, strengthening key positions and creating bridgeheads for possible defense. The Dnipropetrovsk region, as one of the largest regions of Ukraine, is under increased protection, and its preparation for a possible defense is carried out taking into account all possible scenarios for the development of the conflict.
Still, if Russian troops manage to capture Pokrovsk, they will be able to actually reach the borders of the Dnipropetrovsk region, which will create a direct threat not only for this region, but also for the interior of the country. In this case, Ukrainian forces will face the need to defend large cities and industrial centers such as Dnieper, which will complicate the strategic situation on the Eastern Front.
Meanwhile, Russian troops with updated chevrons have appeared on the front, photos of which have already been shown.
