Mobilization in Ukraine: Can a soldier travel abroad?

Twitter LinkedIn

The law provides for the possibility of traveling abroad for military personnel, including during martial law.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to ArmіyaInform.

For example, for treatment, on a business trip or during vacation. In the case of vacation, such an opportunity directly depends on whether the unit commander approves it. It is reported that, first of all, you need to submit a report to the unit commander. This must be done no later than 15 days before the vacation. In the report, it is advisable to write out all the information about the vacation in as much detail as possible.

Place and duration of stay (address, contact information), type of transport, border crossing point. Specify all countries you plan to pass through if you have access to classified information.

It is also worth adding certain documents, such as copies of round-trip tickets. If you are going to visit family, you will need: a marriage certificate, a birth certificate of children, documents confirming the family's residence in the country you are planning to travel to.

If the unit commander approves such leave, then this must then be formalized in the form of an order, which will specify permission to leave the country. Before the leave, you must obtain an extract from this order.

In addition, the unit must issue a leave ticket indicating the leave period, as well as permission to travel abroad. After receiving these documents, you must come to the Military Law Enforcement Service with the leave ticket and register. And then you can cross the border.

The Times also predicted whether Ukraine will be able to mobilize 200 thousand men by the end of the year.
