Ministry of Defense of Ukraine initiated a large-scale audit of persons reserved from mobilization, which may temporarily suspend reservations until November 15, 2024.

< p>The audit was proposed by the Ministry of Defense, with the aim of verifying the legality of the reservation of citizens and employees of enterprises who were exempted from mobilization during the period of martial law.
The ministry is seeking to determine how justified the decisions to grant deferments were and whether they were in the interests of national security.
According to an extract from the minutes of the government meeting of October 8, 2024, published by The Page, the government instructed the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Economy to jointly develop a draft decision.
This project involves a temporary suspension until November 15 of the provisions of the criteria that determine which enterprises and organizations are critical to the country. Until these criteria are in effect, new reservations will not be made.
One of the key aspects of the audit is the cancellation of existing deferments if it is established that the reservation was unjustified or contrary to the interests of the country's defense capability. The Ministry of Defense is convinced that such measures will not only strengthen confidence in the mobilization preparation system, but also ensure fairness in relation to all mobilization entities.
A source of RBC-Ukraine in the Cabinet of Ministers confirmed the veracity of this information, adding that the initiator of this decision was the Ministry of Defense. The main goal is a systematic check of who, on what grounds and in what volumes was exempted from mobilization duties. This is especially relevant in the context of ongoing military actions, when every military resource is strategically important.
