Russian troops may begin active assault operations in the Zaporizhzhya direction in the next 3-7 days. Currently, the occupation forces are conducting reconnaissance and search operations aimed at identifying Ukrainian defense positions.
This was reported by URA-Inform, citing the broadcast of the telethon, where the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladislav Voloshin, spoke.
According to Voloshin, Russian troops have not yet begun active assault operations near Rabotino and Priyutnoye, however, a concentration of assault group personnel is already being observed at the forward positions.
“The occupiers have not yet launched full-scale assaults, but the enemy is concentrating forces on the front lines to prepare for them. The main goal of these groups is to capture our positions and improve the tactical situation in the region,” the speaker emphasized.
At the moment, the occupiers are conducting reconnaissance of the area and intelligence operations aimed at identifying the front line of Ukrainian forces, the location of fire weapons and vulnerable areas of defense. This allows the enemy to prepare the ground for future attacks by small infantry groups.
“In the foreseeable future, within 3-5 days, the active use of small assault groups of 5 to 10 people will begin, who will try to capture key positions and change the configuration of the combat clash in their favor,” Voloshin specified.
The enemy's assault operations will be methodical: small groups of infantry will try to capture strategically important positions. After capturing these positions, the consolidation groups will enter the battle, holding the lines, thereby trying to secure the successes on the front line.
“Ukrainian intelligence has not yet recorded the creation of large offensive groups of the enemy, but assault groups are being formed on the basis of active units and subdivisions,” Voloshin added.
Against this background, Bloomberg warned about what option for ending the war Zelensky is already looking for.
