Doctors explained what kind of threat to life a detached blood clot can pose, and also listed the signs that may indicate its detachment.

The main signs of a blood clot breaking off can be severe pallor, shortness of breath, profuse sweating and pain.
«Most often, the phrase a broken off blood clot means pulmonary embolism. It is worth paying attention to the fact that the person has turned pale, is covered in sweat, there is pain behind the breastbone, in the back of the head, in the chest,” the doctors reported.
If such symptoms appear, you should immediately call an ambulance, since the blood clot can come off in a matter of seconds.
