Ukraine wants to introduce a new type of punishment for drivers: it will be easier to lose your license

In Ukraine they may introduce penalty points for drivers of vehicles as one of the punishments for violating traffic rules.

This was reported by “URA-Inform” with reference to Avtosota.

The corresponding proposal came from the Center for Democracy and the Rule of Law (CEDEM). Analysts explain their proposal by the fact that many drivers in Ukraine violate traffic rules systematically.

This often involves serious offenses, such as driving through a red light, not letting pedestrians cross at a crosswalk, crossing or violating overtaking rules. For such violators, it is proposed to toughen the punishment in case of repetition.

It is noted that penalty points can serve as a preventive measure against future violations. After all, when a certain number of driver points are accumulated, they can automatically revoke a driver's license.

For example, a driver does not commit any traffic violations during the year that would provide for such a punishment, but systematically violates other rules and continues to retain his license.

Such injustice has already been eliminated in a number of European countries. It is expected that similar legislation will soon appear in Ukraine. Moreover, the National Police has been insisting on this for a long time.

Recall that it was previously reported that there is a new road sign: what the lines and half of the cars warn about.
