Many are used to charging the smartphone to 100% or connecting it to the charger, even if the battery is not completely discharged.
This is reported by “URA-Inform” with reference to Pocket-lint.
Another a common habit is to leave the device on charge overnight. However, this will only “kill” your battery. In addition, the idea that the phone needs to be discharged “to zero” is wrong.
Modern phones have lithium batteries that don't need this approach. They should be kept charged between 50-80% to extend the battery's memory and lifespan.
“If you constantly charge your phone to 100% and then discharge it to zero, you will exhaust the limit. The result is that the smartphone will start to discharge more actively and consume more energy than at the beginning, which will also reduce the battery's performance,” the experts said.
Experts recommend keeping your phone charged to 50% at all times and turning it off when not in use. You can also manually reduce power consumption by setting up automatic brightness, background mode, and turning on the low power consumption function.
The opinion that it is not recommended to leave your smartphone on charge at night implies that the battery will break down due to excessive electricity flow. This is not entirely true – phones are now “smart” enough to stop consuming energy when the required limit is reached.
The problem is different – the smartphone overheats if it is left on charge for too long. It is not difficult to solve this problem – before charging the smartphone, remove its case. This way the device will be on a flat surface, and the heat from the battery will dissipate evenly.
