Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that the United States plays a key role in providing military aid, and any changes in their policy after the elections will have a significant impact on the development of the war or its end.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Unian.

At the same time, he said that if American support weakens after the November elections, Ukraine will be forced to switch to “Plan B”.

«The situation is that the main donor in aid to Ukraine is the United States. And if their policy changes after the elections, these changes are «Plan B». That is, US policy itself will influence the development of this war, or the development of the end of the war,— the president said.

Zelensky stressed that it is difficult to predict exact changes in US policy, since the outcome of the elections is unpredictable. He also pointed out that the positions of candidates during the election campaign may differ, but their real policy will only become known after the elections.

«And how it will be after, no one knows. Because today they are not fighting for Ukraine, but fighting in their elections, which is fair for their state. For us, not so much. We believe that we should remain in focus, because we are in a war, Zelensky said.
