Teenage trends are not on place, and one of the most discussed subcultures has become quadrobics – a movement that combines physical activity and imitation of animal habits.
This is reported by “URA-Inform”.
Who are quad bikers?
Quad bobs are young people who practice quad biking, moving on all fours and performing complex acrobatic elements. Their main goal is to imitate animal movements, such as jumping or running. The name of the subculture comes from the words “quad” (four) and “aerobics”, which reflects the specificity of the activity.
Difference from other subcultures
Unlike furries, who create complex animal costumes (fursonas), quadrobers wear minimalist accessories: ears, gloves-paws and tails. The essence of quadrobics is not in visual aesthetics, but in physical activity and tricks.
Origins and inspiration
The idea of moving on all fours goes back to the Japanese Kenichi Ito, who set a record for running on all fours in 2008. His technique inspired followers around the world, and in Europe and Ukraine this phenomenon was transformed into a subculture with elements of acrobatics.
Popularity in Ukraine
In Ukraine, quad bikes are rapidly gaining popularity. Videos of teenagers crawling around parks on all fours, jumping, and interacting with animals are increasingly appearing on social networks. This behavior attracts attention, and sometimes causes bewilderment.
Risks and benefits for teenagers
Many quad bikers view this hobby as a way to deal with stress and express themselves. However, parents and psychologists warn of the risks of physical injury and social isolation. However, like sports, quad bikes help teenagers develop endurance and strengthen the nervous system.
The future of the subculture
Quad bikers attract public attention, causing both interest and criticism. Time will tell whether quad bikes will become a stable element of youth culture or a temporary trend.
It was also reported that Ukraine plans to switch clocks to winter time in the last minute.
