В In 2024, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law canceling the transition to daylight saving time.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Obozrevatel.

That is, on October 27, 2024, Ukrainians will for the last time will move the clocks. In particular, at 04:00 the clocks will need to be moved back one hour – to 03:00, which will give an extra hour of sleep. It is worth noting that traditionally the clocks are moved on Sunday so that people have the opportunity to at least a little adapt to the new time.

After that, the country will remain on winter time, and the switch to summer time, which usually occurs in March, is no longer planned. The parliamentarians argued that this was a decision to protect the health of citizens, since scientists and doctors have repeatedly pointed out the negative consequences of the transition.

However, the Academy of Higher Education Sciences asked the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to reconsider this decision, emphasizing that it was made without taking into account expert opinions and may lead to an increase in electricity costs.

Recall that it was previously reported what winter will be like in Ukraine: Ptukha told what kind of weather to expect.
