It is reported that that the Ukrainian side, together with IMF experts, are considering possible options for supporting the country's energy stability, given the significant damage that Russia has inflicted on Ukraine's energy system and, as a consequence, the impact of this on the recovery of Ukraine's economy.
This was reported by “URA- Inform» with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
In particular, the IMF memorandum contains various potential options for reforming the energy system. The Ministry of Finance noted that Ukraine has already successfully passed five revisions of the IMF EFF program. Based on the results of each revision, The Fund is updating the memorandum in accordance with the updated list of economic and financial policy measures.
«All memorandum updates considered the potential possibility of increasing energy tariffs as an event aimed at solving problems in the energy sector due to a full-scale war. However, such a measure is only possible if sufficient and targeted resources are allocated to protect vulnerable households,” — the department noted.
In turn, the CEO of Yasno also answered whether an increase in electricity tariffs is planned.
