Fukuyama told which model of Ukraine's victory he does not believe in: and explained why

Authoritative American philosopher Francis Fukuyama expressed his opinion on what could motivate the United States to strive for Ukraine's victory in the war with the Russian Federation and think specifically about it in its strategic calculations.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Nv.ua .

“Well, I think it depends on what you mean by victory,” Fukuyama noted.

When the NV journalist suggested that it could be “a long-term stable peace, when Russia will not be able to attack Ukraine,” the philosopher noted:

“Well, the only way to get that is if the Ukrainian army can occupy Moscow and overthrow Putin. You won't get a long-term stable peace as long as he's around, as long as Russia keeps all its energy resources and its army. So it's militarily impossible.”

The question, according to the philosopher, is how much of the territory occupied after 1991 Ukraine can get back.

“And that will also be quite difficult. I think Donbass in particular will be very difficult to get back. So victory will mean stability in the context of these kinds of constraints. I don't want to say anything about what should be acceptable for Ukraine, but the question of whether we will do what is necessary to achieve victory depends on how exactly you define it,” — Francis Fukuyama emphasized.

It also became known that Putin has two options for “victory”: Zhdanov revealed the dictator's plans.
