There are many ways to “treat” a hangover – from a hearty breakfast to various medications.
This was reported by “URA-Inform” with reference to T4.
Nevertheless, the authors of the new study are confident that regular exercise can play a vital role in alleviating those unpleasant morning hangover symptoms.
The study involved 1,676 undergraduate students, all of whom had experienced at least one hangover in the past three months. All participants were physically active for at least 30 minutes a week. They completed an online questionnaire that assessed their drinking habits, physical activity levels, and the severity of their hangover symptoms.
The results showed a link between physical activity and hangover symptoms. As it turned out, those who drank more alcohol experienced more severe hangover symptoms. However, those who engaged in physical activity, such as running, had significantly less severe hangover symptoms. This indicates that intense physical exercise can reduce the severity of a hangover.
Physical activity promotes the release of endorphins, hormones that act as natural analgesics. Regular exercise can increase the levels of these hormones, which can help reduce the pain and discomfort of a hangover.
In addition, physical exercise helps improve the quality of sleep by helping to regulate circadian rhythms. This can facilitate recovery from alcohol, ensuring deeper and longer sleep.
While physical activity can help reduce the symptoms of a hangover, it is not a universal solution. The best way to prevent a hangover is to drink alcohol in moderation.
