Blackouts may soon begin in Ukraine electricity, as energy consumption is expected to increase in two weeks. This is due to the fact that with the cold weather, people will begin to actively use heaters.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Tsn.

Expert of the Institute of Energy Strategies Yuriy Korolchuk noted that due to the late start of the heating season, Ukrainians will turn on electric heaters more often.

«How close are we to blackouts? Close. In fact, I think we'll have another two weeks to talk about electricity consumption growing in Ukraine as a whole. Heating season – We heard such a specific justification from the authorities in Kyiv that we will save gas, so we will turn on the heating later. The load will go to electricity, to heaters, and then there may be restrictions. Not so significant, we can’t say that it will be 12 hours straight away. But until the frosts start – somewhere at night up to -10, and during the day -5 – then we won’t see those 12 hours,” he said. /p>

At the same time, the expert added that the situation will vary by region.

It is also worth recalling that Ukraine will switch its clocks to winter time for the last time: when and Why academics are unhappy.
