“Partial encirclement” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region: ISW responded to Putin's statements

Kremlin head Vladimir Putin tried demonstrate Russia's confidence in its military's ability to repel a Ukrainian invasion of the Kursk region at a press conference following the BRICS summit on October 24.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to ISW.

Analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War have concluded that the dictator's words about the “encirclement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces” and Ukrainian losses in Kursk are “greatly exaggerated.”

According to analysts, Putin stated that Russian troops have encircled about 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers , which are now “blocked” in the Kursk region. The dictator, in particular, did not admit that the Ukrainian uprising in Kursk region extends from the Ukrainian-Russian international border and that Ukrainian troops can freely cross the sections of the border that are under Ukrainian control.

Putin also stated that Ukrainian troops have lost about 26,000 personnel during the operation in the Kursk region over the past month — probably a strong exaggeration.

At the same time, Zelensky is unhappy with Syrsky: an insider revealed what the Commander-in-Chief lost in Donbass.
