In Kyiv, courts handed down the first sentences for evading mobilization: what is known

Kyiv courts The first sentences were handed down in the “mobilization cases.”

This was reported by “URA-Inform” with reference to the Kyiv police.

The Kyiv police communications department reported that seven conscripts have already been punished, and another 19 are awaiting court decisions. They noted that Kyiv courts have issued seven sentences against men who evaded military service.

“In particular, a resident of the Solomensky district was sentenced to four years in prison, and a resident of the capital’s Obolon will spend the next five years behind bars,” the report says.

Law enforcement officials added that since the beginning of the year, investigators have completed pre-trial investigations and sent indictments to court in 26 criminal cases that were investigated on the fact of evasion of conscription and registration for military service. Suspicion has been notified to 51 individuals.

In most cases, pre-trial investigations in criminal cases under Articles 336 and 337 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine begin based on reports from Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers.

«Current legislation provides for imprisonment for a term of three to five years for persons liable for military service evasion upon mobilization and registration for military service. In addition, the violator is not removed from military registration and is subject to conscription in the future, the Kyiv police noted.
