What is the difference between the battles in Kursk and Donbass: Diky named the main difference

The fighting continues both in Donbass and on enemy territory – in the Kursk region.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Donpress.

According to ATO veteran Yevgeny Diky, Russian forces have long been trying to launch a full-scale offensive there, no less powerful than the attacks in the Donetsk direction.

However, the occupiers have already used up all their available resources and were even forced to redeploy their units from the Ukrainian front. Dyky noted that the Russian Federation was able to go on the offensive only by withdrawing three of its most combat-ready divisions from the front line.

There is currently active fighting in the Kursk region, but it is different from the fighting in the Donbass. As Dyky explained, there is no continuous front line or positional warfare in this territory — there is no trench defense, as in the Donbass. The war in the Kursk region is maneuvering, with the active use of drones and other modern technologies.

He said that the nature of the fighting in the Kursk region is reminiscent of the events in the Kiev region in 2022: the terrain is similar, and both sides do not have continuous lines of fortifications — only separate fortified areas. As a result, the forces are actively maneuvering, trying to strike at the flanks and rear.

«This is not a trench war, but a highly maneuverable war, but the intensity of the fighting is absolutely comparable to Donbass», – summed up Yevgeny Dyky.

Recall that earlier it was reported how many kilometers to the Dnipropetrovsk region the Russian troops have left: alarming figures were named (map).
