Trump's Ukraine plan revealed to media: experts reveal what the ex-president will do

Former US President Donald Trump and Senator J.D. Vance, who is being considered as a candidate for the post of vice president, presented a plan for settling the war in Ukraine, which has caused a stir in international circles.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the Financial Times.

As it turned out, their proposal is based on the concept of a frozen conflict with autonomous regions on both sides of the demilitarized zone and the exclusion of Ukraine from the immediate prospects of joining NATO.

The basis of the proposed strategy was a modification of the Minsk agreements of 2014 and 2015, which failed to stop the fighting in Donbas. Trump's advisers emphasize that the original goal of the agreements was to preserve the territorial integrity of Ukraine, while granting autonomous status to several eastern regions.

However, due to political disagreements and the lack of effective control mechanisms, these conditions were never implemented.

This time, Trump intends to provide for enforcement mechanisms that will ensure compliance with the agreements. According to one adviser, the agreement will include “serious consequences” for violating it, but its implementation will be monitored exclusively by European forces.

It is important to note that Trump insists that neither NATO troops nor UN peacekeepers should participate in the monitoring, in order to avoid escalating tensions with Russia.

Yermak has already officially stated that Ukraine is ready to consider alternative peace plans from China and Brazil.
