The head of the Kupyansk city military administration, Andrei Besedin, reported that that the Russian occupiers still have about three kilometers to cover. As the official noted, the situation in the city is difficult. Currently, Kupyansk is only 2.5 kilometers from the front line.
In addition, the enemy shells the city and nearby communities every day. Head MVA added that a general evacuation of the population from the left bank of the Kupyansk community is currently underway. In particular, there are still more than 2,500 civilians in Kupyansk itself, and more than 1,400 on the left bank. He called on local residents not to neglect their safety and to leave for safer areas.
«Due to the destruction of critical infrastructure, populated areas are left without electricity, gas and water supply. The security situation currently does not allow for restoration work to be carried out there. We are conducting ongoing work to inform about the possibility of evacuation to safer regions of Ukraine,” the official added.
