Astronauts to conduct major experiment on the Moon: could be a breakthrough in housing construction on the Earth's satellite

On Wednesday, October 30, China sent three astronauts to its own permanent space station, where they will conduct dozens of scientific experiments. In particular, some of them are related to the construction of human habitation sites on the Moon.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Reuters.

It is reported that the Shenzhou-19 spacecraft and its three crew members took off on a Long March-2F rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, which is located in northwest China.

Lin Siqiang, deputy director of the China Manned Space Agency, said the mission will carry out 86 space science and technology experiments in the fields of space science, life science, microgravity physics, materials, medicine and new technology.

One of the experiments is expected to study the effects of a brick made from imitation lunar soil in space conditions. The brick will be sent on a separate uncrewed spaceflight next month.

“If the test is successful, the brick could become the main building material for the permanent lunar research station that China plans to build by 2035, since it would theoretically be more convenient than transporting building materials from Earth,” — the publication notes.

It will also be interesting to know that a 100-year-old “Time Capsule” was opened in the USA: what was in it (video).
