Twitter LinkedIn

Minister of Defense South Korean Kim Yong Hyun said that in exchange for sending its military to the Russian Federation, North Korea will ask Moscow for advanced technologies.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to CNN.

< p>According to him, this also concerns nuclear weapons. He noted that North Korea will probably demand from Russia the transfer of technologies related to tactical nuclear weapons. Pyongyang needs such assistance in the context of North Korea's development of intercontinental ballistic missiles, reconnaissance satellites and nuclear submarines.

Kim Yong Hyun also expressed doubts that North Korea's deployment of troops to help Russia would increase the likelihood of a war breaking out in the Korean peninsula, but this could lead to an “escalation of security threats on the Korean Peninsula.”

In turn, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said that the US intends to defend South Korea with all kinds of weapons. This also applies to nuclear weapons.
