Analysts at the US Institute for the Study of War noted that the Kiev Research Institute of Forensic Science reported that the wreckage of the Shahed-136 drones, which Russian forces used in a series of strikes from October 26 to 29, showed that Russian forces had modified the drones.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to ISW.

Namely, they added thermobaric warheads to the drones. At the same time, the Russian invaders intend to make their “Shaheds” “invisible.” Thus, according to analysts, Roselectronics, a subsidiary of the Russian state defense conglomerate Rostec, announced on October 30 that it had developed a radio-absorbing coating for Russian thermobaric artillery systems TOS-1A. It will allegedly make the system “invisible” to modern guidance systems and thermal imagers.

It is worth noting that the Kiev Research Institute of Forensic Expertise also noted that the Russians added Chinese-made engines to their kamikaze drones, as well as Russian-made Kometa units. In particular, the Kometa device is the only Russian technology that the occupiers began to use in an attack drone.

The experts also added that it is too early to talk about the effectiveness of the changes. According to them, it is obvious that Russia is using the Shaheds mainly for the destruction of civilian infrastructure and terrorizing the population.

Zhdanov also shared alarming news about what kind of non-standard “biological weapon” Putin is preparing to use.
