Mobilization without the TCC: who else has received the right to independently call up Ukrainians

Border detachments of the State The Ukrainian Border Service now has the right to mobilize reservists and conscripts without involving the TCC.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

This innovation allows border detachment commanders to independently send military personnel to the military medical commission (MMC) and organize mobilization without unnecessary bureaucracy.

It significantly simplifies the mobilization procedure, because previously commanders had to contact the TCC to be called up for service. Now everything can be decided directly, which, according to experts, will significantly speed up the process and increase the number of volunteers in the border units.

As reported by the State Border Service on its official website, now 10 border detachments have received the right to independently recruit volunteers and reservists.

The list of detachments that have been granted the right to independently mobilize includes:

— the Offensive Guard Brigade “Revenge”, the 3rd Luhansk Border Detachment named after Hero of Ukraine Colonel Yevgeny Pikus;

— Guard Offensive Brigade “Gart”, 1st Donetsk Border Detachment;

— Guard Offensive Brigade “Steel Border”, 15th Mobile Border Detachment;

— 10th Mobile Border Detachment “DOZOR”;

— 4th Kharkov Border Detachment;

— 5th Sumy Border Detachment;

— 8th Berdyansk Border Detachment;

— 11th Kramatorsk Border Detachment;

— 79th Kherson Border Detachment;

— 105th Chernihiv Border Detachment named after Vladimir the Great.

The government also adopted a resolution giving the right to mobilize reservists and conscripts directly in military units. Thus, conscripts and volunteers can choose a military unit for service without mandatory application to the TCC. This will allow the command not only to save time, but also to quickly staff combat units.

Commanders of military units now have the right to directly send volunteers to the VLK to determine their suitability for service and independently form combat units from those willing to serve. The list of military units that will have the authority to carry out conscription will be determined by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is noted that this new system will likely not only strengthen the border service, but will also allow volunteers to quickly join military units without unnecessary formalities.

It also became known that Ukraine is proposing to introduce the principle of mobilization priority: what stages does it include.
