From now on, even more Ukrainians will be able to receive funds from the United Nations.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.

The press service of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine reported that on the eve of winter, a new wave of the cash assistance program from the UN World Food Program (WFP) was launched, within the framework of which new categories of Ukrainians were expanded and added.

The list of recipients, in addition to those who received it previously, now includes persons without the right to a pension, adults and children with disabilities who simultaneously meet the following criteria:

— live in areas of active or potential military action;

— receive social assistance of less than UAH 3,250 per month;

— do not receive assistance for the accommodation of internally displaced persons (IDPs);

— do not receive international targeted financial support from other international organizations when providing assistance.

The amount of assistance is the difference between UAH 3,250 and the amount of social assistance already received from the state. For example, if a person receives UAH 2,700 in social assistance, the payment will be an additional UAH 550.

“This program is currently designed for six months, the total amount of funds that WFP will send for assistance is more than UAH 284 million. Funds are paid to a bank account or by Ukrposhta home delivery. Payments to bank accounts are already being made, and payments by mail will begin in a few weeks,” the Ministry of Social Policy noted.

The department emphasized that there is no need to contact WFP or the Ministry of Social Policy. The lists of recipients are formed on the basis of the state's existing registers, and the WFP sends cash payments to these people.
