Russia may make special demands on Ukraine: The Guardian warned what is at stake

Twitter LinkedIn

If Donald Trump will try to take the role of mediator in resolving the conflict in Ukraine, the Kremlin may put forward a number of serious conditions.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to The Guardian.

Among them, as suggested by The Guardian, possibly demanding that Russia hand over control over the Zaporizhia, Kherson and Donetsk regions. Another demand is the creation of a buffer zone and the establishment of a neutral status for Ukraine outside NATO.

Observers also note that even under Trump, his team discussed a possible peaceful agreement that would involve freezing the current front line, securing Crimea for Russia and revising the territorial status of Ukraine's eastern regions.

Trump's mediation would likely include elements of such compromise proposals, which would cause serious controversy both within Ukraine itself and and among its Western allies.

Meanwhile, the Russians are bringing Belarusians to Mariupol: Andryushchenko told what they are doing there.
