The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the aggressor country, Sergei Lavrov, stated that the Russian Federation has never refused to engage in dialogue with the United States of America or other countries.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the TV channel “Politics of the Country”.
He made this statement during a press conference following his working visit to Kazakhstan.
“We have never refused to have contacts with anyone. President Vladimir Putin emphasizes our position every time this topic comes up. Maintaining dialogue will always be a better solution than isolating each other,” the Russian official said.
He also added that it was not Russia that interrupted the dialogue with the United States, so “it is not for them to propose resuming it.” Lavrov also noted that the Kremlin will expect “honest proposals” from America for further negotiations.
At the same time, Lavrov also hopes that the Trump administration will be interested in appointing a new Russian ambassador, and will not interfere with this. The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the candidacy of the new ambassador has already been determined.
“The new Russian ambassador to the United States, his candidacy is going through the usual stages of registration, the procedures will soon be completed,” Lavrov summed up.
At the same time, the Russian Federation may put forward special demands on Ukraine: The Guardian warned what is being discussed.
