On Saturday, 9 November, the fighting continued at the main Ukrainian performance in the Kursk region.

This was reported by “URA-Inform” with reference to ISW.

ISW analysts noted that neither Russian nor Ukrainian forces had confirmed any advances in the area.

In particular, Russian military bloggers claimed that Russian forces operating east of Korenevo along the northern edge of the strike had advanced in the area of Stara Sorochina and repelled Pogrebki and Orlovka during a platoon-sized mechanized offensive, but ISW saw no visual confirmation of these claims.

A Kremlin-linked Russian military blogger claimed that Ukrainian forces were using unspecified tanks in an attack on Russian positions in the Kursk region. Fighting continued southeast of Korenevo near Darino, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Leonidove, Novoivanovka, and Zeleny Put; east of Korenevo near Novaya Sorochina and Stara Sorochina; northeast of Sudzha near Martynovka; and southeast of Sudzha near Plekhovo.

Units of Russia's 106th Airborne Division, including its 51st Paratrooper Regiment, and the 83rd Airborne Brigade are reported to be operating in the Korenevsky and Sudzhansky districts. Units of the Russian special forces battalion “Arbat” are reported to be operating in the Korenevsky and Sudzhansky districts. (Russian Volunteer Corps) continue to operate in the Kursk region.

Russian sources claim that on November 9, Russian troops repelled a Ukrainian cross-border attack in the Novy Put area (south of Glushkovo) in the Glushkovsky district (west of the main Ukrainian action in the Kursk region).

Recall that earlier it was reported that the situation in the Kursk region had worsened: heavy fighting is underway (map).
