Ukrainians oppose telethon: poll shows powerful results

Twitter LinkedIn

Recent survey conducted by agency USAID showed that 45% of Ukrainians support the closure of the national telethon “Unified News”, which has become the main source of information since the beginning of the war.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the official USAID website.

32% were against the closure, and another 10% believe that the marathon should be continued even after the end of hostilities. This trend indicates an increase in fatigue among spectators and a decrease in the level of trust in official information.

If in 2023, “Edinye Novosti” was trusted by 81% of Ukrainians, then in 2024 this figure dropped to 67%, which may indicate the audience's need for more diverse and independent sources of information.

Sociologists note that the decline in trust in the telethon may be due to the monotony of news delivery and limited diversity of opinions.

The public is gradually turning its attention to alternative platforms that offer a more comprehensive view of events, which makes the question of the future of “Edinye Novosti” especially relevant. Society demands changes in the information system, especially against the backdrop of the ongoing war and the need to maintain the morale of citizens.

Some experts suggest that in the context of post-war reconstruction in Ukraine, information sources must adapt to the changing needs of the audience, creating more dynamic and transparent news formats.

In addition, the insider revealed what Zelensky will do with the war without US help.
