Twitter LinkedIn

Potatoes, especially boiled, may not be as healthy as is commonly believed.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the Telegram channel “Blog about health”.

According to the recommendations of a cardiologist , this root vegetable contains a significant amount of simple carbohydrates, which can be problematic for those watching their sugar levels. One medium-sized potato contains the equivalent amount of carbohydrates of a tablespoon of sugar.

“By eating four potatoes, a person consumes the daily norm of sugar. Exceeding this norm can have a negative impact on health,” the doctor warns.

The cardiologist advises limiting the addition of sugar to drinks and avoiding eating bread if several potatoes are eaten in one meal.

Thus, frequent consumption of potatoes can cause a “serious blow” to the body, so it should be consumed extremely rarely. The doctor emphasizes that potatoes are not recommended for daily consumption and should be present in moderation.
