About 30% Mariupol residents who left their homes due to military actions returned to the city, which found itself under occupation.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to RBC-Ukraine.

This is an alarming signal, experts from the Association of Ukrainian Cities noted at a meeting of the section on temporarily occupied territories. As the head of the section and the mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boychenko explained, this was influenced by several factors, including Russian propaganda and the lack of housing for internally displaced persons.

“The creation of affordable social housing in Ukraine will help prevent the return of citizens to the occupied territories and will provide them with the opportunity to remain in “To the Motherland,” Boychenko emphasized.

Additional difficulties are created by the lack of full compensation for lost property. Although the “eVidnovlennia” program has already helped more than 73 thousand families, many have yet to receive housing certificates.

The International Register of Damage from Russian Aggression is also becoming a key element, creating an important basis for legal proceedings and restoration of justice.

Against this background, it became known how many Ukrainians believe in victory and when they expect the war to end.
