President Vladimir Zelensky stated that Ukraine will sit down at the negotiating table with the aggressor country Russia only on the condition that it is not alone and its position is strong and advantageous at the time of the negotiations.

“That Ukraine will not be alone with the Russian Federation, provided that Ukraine is strong. What kind of negotiations can there be with a murderer? If we talk to Putin, and we are not strengthened in the conditions that we have now, this is a losing status for Ukraine at the entrance. This is not about a fair peace. Of course, in a weak situation there is nothing to do there in these negotiations,” Zelensky noted.
He also added that the position of the elected US President Donald Trump is also very important for the beginning of the negotiation process.
“Trump's position is very important, America's attitude towards Ukraine is very important. They are on Ukraine's side today,” the guarantor noted.
He also added that another condition for the Russian Federation's negotiations is the lack of neutrality on the part of the mediators. As the president emphasized, supporting values and justice is important for our country, and therefore there cannot be a neutral position on these issues.
“We cannot say abstractly: I am a mediator, so I cannot choose one side or another. This cannot be in violation of international law. America must maintain its position of support for Ukraine in that Russia is an aggressor. This status must remain. Then we must also think about it. This is one of the entry points, which is very important at any negotiating platform. There must also be elements of our victory plan,” — added Zelensky.
