Not Just Alcohol: Doctors Name Three Harmless Habits That Destroy the Liver

Twitter LinkedIn

The liver may suffer not only from alcohol – some habits that seem harmless can cause serious harm to it.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Ukr.media.

Experts highlight three of them that are worth paying attention to.

Excessive consumption of fruit

Although fruits are considered a healthy product, their excess can harm the liver. The reason is fructose, which, according to research, increases the risk of developing fatty liver disease. Many people limit fats and carbohydrates for the sake of health, but do not take into account the content of monosaccharides in foods. For example, 100 grams of apples contain more fructose than the same amount of sweet soda.

Drug Abuse

Some drugs have a negative effect on the liver. If, after taking medications, symptoms such as fatigue, loss of appetite, or discomfort in the upper abdomen appear, you should immediately consult a doctor.

A Sedentary Lifestyle

Low physical activity contributes to excess weight gain, and fat is deposited not only under the skin, but also around the internal organs, including the liver. This can lead to inflammation. Experts advise paying attention to regular physical activity to reduce such risks.

They noted that simple lifestyle changes will help avoid problems and maintain liver health.
