According to ancient Chinese teachings, there are special acupressure points on the human body located along energy channels known as meridians.

These meridians ensure the circulation of vital energy (qi). When the energy flow is disrupted, it can be restored by influencing certain points using acupressure.

Influencing such zones helps reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. This technique resembles acupuncture, but fingers are used instead of needles. For example, pressing point CV 17 often brings instant relief.

CV 17, also called the “pre-middle meridian 17,” is located in the center of the chest. In Chinese culture, it is considered to be the main energy center of the body, where emotions are concentrated. This area is especially vulnerable to stress.

The position of CV 17 is believed to help harmonize the yin and yang energies in the body. Acupressure experts believe that even light pressure on this area can improve the condition of the nervous system and strengthen the immune system.

How to work with point CV 17:

1. Find it: it is located in the center of the chest, about four fingers above the sternal notch. You can locate it by gently rubbing this area until you feel a small depression.

2. Sit up straight and join your palms in front of your chest, as if in a prayer pose.

3. Lightly press the point with your fingertips for 2-3 minutes.

4. Close your eyes, relax and breathe evenly.

5. Make sure to keep your back straight and your neck and shoulders relaxed.

If you suffer from insomnia, you can try gently tapping this area with your fingers. Stimulating CV 17 not only helps to cope with anxiety and stress, but also relieves fatigue, normalizes hormonal levels and promotes recovery from psychological trauma.
