The corresponding document was published on the website Verkhovna Rada.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to bill No. 12172.

Driving a car through a red light is considered a serious violation of traffic rules, for which they plan not only to fine, but also to temporarily deprive the driver of a license. The Verkhovna Rada Committee is already working on a corresponding bill.

Thus, bill No. 12172 provides for increased penalties for drivers for repeated traffic violations. The adoption of this document will help reduce the number of administrative offenses related to gross and systematic violations of traffic rules, and, as a result, will help reduce the level of mortality and injuries on the roads in the future.

According to the document, administrative liability will be determined for repeated violations of pedestrian crossings, failure to give way to pedestrians at unregulated pedestrian crossings, driving through a red light or a traffic controller's gesture, violating intersection driving rules, violating overtaking and oncoming traffic rules:

— for repeated commission of the specified violations within a year after the imposition of a fine for such violations, a fine of sixty non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens is provided for;

— in the event of the commission of the specified violations by a person who has twice within a year been subject to an administrative penalty for any of the listed offenses, a fine of one hundred and fifty non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens is provided for with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of six months to one year.

We remind you that it was previously reported that a certain category of drivers will be fined in Kyiv: what is this connected with?
