Kyiv City Council Deputy Leonid Yemets stressed that the process of ending martial law requires an extremely balanced and cautious approach.

This was reported by “URA-Inform” with reference to “Novyny.Live”.

He noted that Ukraine may not immediately lift martial law after the end of hostilities, but will move to its “quasi-format”. In particular, questions may arise regarding the demobilization of the military and the ability of citizens to freely travel abroad.

«We need to be very careful when exiting martial law. At the moment, the existing legislative framework raises more questions than answers. We are exiting martial law, and then the question arises: hundreds of thousands of servicemen must be demobilized – is the state ready to do this in a single moment?» – he said.

At the same time, Yemets emphasized that the issue of borders also arises:

«According to the law, it is prohibited to prohibit a citizen from moving, including outside the borders of the Ukrainian state. When martial law is lifted with all its restrictions on human rights provided for by the Constitution, the issue of borders arises. It is clear that a quasi-format of martial law will most likely be formed,” Yemets believes.

It also became known that on December 1, the rules for protection from mobilization will change: experts have figured out what will be introduced.
