Negotiations with Russia: Yermak named the “starting point” for further settlement of the war

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak stated that negotiations with Russia are possible.

However, only on condition of returning to the situation that existed on February 23, 2022. According to him, productive dialogue is possible only when both sides are ready to end hostilities.

«In addition, it is necessary to return the situation at least to the state of February 23, 2022. This would be a starting point for further settlement, since before this date part of Ukraine was occupied,— he noted.

At the same time, Yermak emphasized that at the moment Russia does not demonstrate any intention to compromise, continuing to escalate the conflict.

He noted that in order to achieve real negotiations, it is extremely important to increase support for Ukraine. Russia will be able to seriously consider negotiations only when it realizes that its current strategy is not producing the desired results.

«Diplomacy has no prospects without forceful support… The concept of «peace through strength» has proven its effectiveness throughout world history. It is time to use it again,» he emphasized.
