How Ukraine will lower the draft age: insider reveals new government strategy

Question about reduction mobilization age in Ukraine is increasingly being discussed at a high level.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the telegram channel “Legitimate”.

Sources report that if hostilities continue, the minimum age for conscription could be sharply reduced to 19-21. Presidential adviser Dmitry Litvin commented on this possibility, emphasizing that lowering the age should not be a priority measure:

“It is premature to call on Ukraine to lower the draft age. We are seeing delays in the supply of military equipment, and without sufficient weapons, mobilizing more people will not bring the desired result,” Litvin noted.

According to insiders, the project to lower the age was presented to Ukraine's international partners as part of negotiations on a new $50 billion loan. These funds are planned to be used to continue military operations, which, according to experts, could become an incentive for making a final decision on mobilizing young citizens.

Experts warn that lowering the mobilization age could have significant social consequences. Young people who have not yet completed their education or have just started their careers will find themselves in the combat zone, which will cause a wave of emigration among young people.

Citizens who are considering leaving the country are advised to make a decision as soon as possible, while leaving remains free and is not limited by additional mobilization measures.

It is worth noting that Western media have named the real losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for the entire duration of the war.
