Why Kharkiv is not disclosing the number of civilian casualties from Russian strikes: Terekhov explained what was agreed upon

Mayor of Kharkov Igor Terekhov The authorities announced that they will publish painful statistics after the war.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Glavcom.

According to him, in Kharkov as a result of Russian strikes, ” not hundreds or thousands” of local residents.

“We agreed not to make this public statistics. Unfortunately, we are not talking about hundreds or thousands of dead and wounded – these are children, middle-aged people, and elderly people. The statistics are sad. We will make them public when the war is over,” – said the city mayor.

Terekhov noted that one million 200 thousand people currently live in the city. Before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Kharkov had, according to official data, 1.6 million residents.

However, in reality, about two million people lived in the regional center, since there were almost 300 thousand students and thousands more people came from the region to Kharkov for work, lived here the entire work week and returned home on weekends.

In turn, the Western media named the real losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the entire war: we are talking about hundreds of thousands.
