The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said that the possibility of sending foreign troops to Ukraine cannot be ruled out.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to ANSA.

“Until now, the discussion has been about which countries are ready to send soldiers to Ukraine and which are not. I believe that nothing can be ruled out and a certain strategic ambiguity should be maintained on this issue,” she said.

The official noted that if a ceasefire agreement is reached between Ukraine and Russia, foreign troops should be sent to verify its observance. However, the final say remains with Ukraine.

“The choice in this regard is in any case Ukraine's,” she stressed.

In addition, Kallas added that she is already establishing contacts with the administration of newly elected US President Donald Trump.

“But when I hear messages from member states that have held talks with the Trump administration, they no longer say that ending this war is easy. Perhaps we should ask ourselves whether a ceasefire is not useful for the Russians, so that they do not abandon their goals. Because Ukraine is having a hard time now, but we overestimate Moscow: their economy has entered a difficult phase – sanctions, deficit, inflation and a shortage of personnel,” Kallas said.

It also became known that Putin is preparing a tough move on Ukraine: Zelensky warned who he will send into battle.
