Minister of Foreign Affairs Lithuanian Gabrielius Landsbergis said that members of the North Atlantic Alliance should provide Ukraine with guarantees to achieve peace.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Reuters.
He noted that the best way will be the launch of NATO's fifth article.
“If we want peace in Ukraine, “We will have to provide security guarantees. There is no cheaper way to guarantee security than NATO's Article 5,” he said.
Landsbergis stressed that the war will only be decided on the battlefield.< /p>
“It would be an illusion to say that we cannot provide Ukraine with everything it needs,” — he added.
It is worth recalling that, according to the fifth article of NATO, if any of the states – members of the Alliance – becomes a victim of an armed attack, all other members of the bloc without exception will consider this an act of violence by armed attack on all of them and will take all measures that they deem appropriate to help the member of the Alliance that has been attacked.
It also became known what will be the turning point in the war between Ukraine and the Russian Federation: the forecast of an American general.
