Educational Ombudsman Nadezhda Leshchik reported that school principals have been made obliged to provide written notification to the police and child welfare services about cases of bullying or abuse of students.
This was reported by URA-Inform reference to Nadezhda Leshchik.
She noted that if previously information about such incidents could be transmitted orally, which often complicated the investigation and bringing the perpetrators to justice, now there is a clear regulation.
The new rules oblige school principals to:
- Within 24 hours of detecting bullying or receiving a report of it, inform the parents or guardians of the victim student.
- Notify the police and child welfare services in writing about the incident.
It is noted that such a practice helps to record requests and ensure prompt intervention by law enforcement agencies, which increases the effectiveness of the fight against bullying and the protection of children's rights.
It also became known how many people currently live in Ukraine: the ombudsman announced sad data.
