Educational Ombudsman Nadezhda Leshchik reported that Ukrainian schools may be granted the right to keep students in the same class for a second year of study.

She made this statement during a meeting with the Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisov, noting that the purpose of such a proposal is to compensate for educational losses.
“She proposed to grant the right to educational institutions to keep students of all classes for a second year of study in the same class under one of the following conditions: the presence of a basic level of academic achievement of the child, a long absence from classes, absence for a period of one academic semester by decision of the pedagogical council, without the consent of the parents”, – said in a statement by Nadezhda Leshchyk.
It is also worth noting that earlier the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine approved the procedure for conducting the national multi-subject test in 2025. Participants will take it from May 14. It is based on its results applicants will be admitted to universities.
At the same time, school principals were instructed to write letters to the police: which will now be included in the new duties.
