British heavyweight Tyson Fury's promoter Frank Warren wants him to target the body of undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch on December 21.
This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Boxing News 24.
In his opinion, this is the Ukrainian's weak point, which Tyson did not take full advantage of in the first fight. Warren believes that 36-year-old Fury focused on punches to the head throughout the fight and ignored the only weak point in Usyk's armor – his body.
“Usyk has a weak spot that Tyson hasn't exploited as much as he should. It's his body. He hasn't exploited it enough, and I'll tell you, it will be fixed. Of course, you have to go on the offensive. What Usyk does when you're in that state is stand his ground. That's when Fury was cutting him off with that uppercut, he caught him every time,” Warren said.
It's worth recalling that in the first fight between Usyk and Fury, which took place on the night of May 19, 2024, the Ukrainian defeated the Briton by split decision (115-112, 114-113, 113-114). Thus, at the end of the ninth round, Usyk knocked his opponent down with a series of punches. However, the fight lasted all 12 rounds, which the regulations stipulate.
With this victory, Usyk defended the WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF belts, and also took the WBC title from Fury. Usyk became the first absolute world champion in the heavyweight division in the 21st century.
It also became known about the Usyk-Fury rematch: which of the boxers will receive a larger fee.
