Pope Calls Ukrainians and Russians Brothers: Important Call Made

The Pope again addressed the topic of war and peace, calling for reconciliation between Ukraine and Russia.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to the official website of the Vatican.

In his prayer, he emphasized, that “Ukrainians and Russians are brothers, cousins, and they must find a common language.” These words were spoken against the backdrop of an ongoing conflict that has become a tragedy for millions of people on both sides of the border.

The pontiff also offered prayers to the Holy Mother of God , asking for “long-awaited peace for the Ukrainian people and the Russian people.”

He said that war is always a defeat and stressed the need to find ways to peace. His words “Peace to the world!” became the central message , which is addressed not only to the leaders of the two countries, but also to the entire international community.

These statements by the Pope emphasize the importance of peaceful dialogue and diplomacy. At the same time, the Ukrainian side has repeatedly stated that peace is possible only with the complete withdrawal of Russian troops and the restoration of territorial integrity.
