December 27 in Ukraine was A new national holiday has been established – the Day of Interethnic Harmony and Cultural Diversity, which will now be celebrated annually on May 21.

This was reported by URA-Inform with reference to Zelensky's decree No. 883/2024 of December 27 .

According to the decree of President Volodymyr Zelensky No. 883/2024, the holiday is aimed at strengthening the unity of the Ukrainian people, supporting Ukrainian national and civic identity, as well as developing the cultural diversity of the country's indigenous peoples and national minorities.

The document emphasizes that respect for these communities is linked to their significant contribution to the defense of the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, including the fight against aggression by the occupying state.

The new decree comes into force from the moment of its official publication.
