Retired Russian Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk said that in 2025, Russian military personnel participating in the so-called “special military operation” (SMO) should focus on completing three key tasks.

«These tasks will be interconnected in place, time and overall strategy,” he noted.
The first task, according to him, is to establish full control over the occupied territories, which Moscow calls “ constitutional». We are talking about Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, which were included in the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
The second priority concerns the completion of operations to neutralize Ukrainian forces in border areas, in particular, in the Kursk region.
The third task, according to Matviychuk, is to strengthen positions on the front. Particular attention is planned to be paid to limiting the actions of Ukrainian forces near the Black Sea, Odessa and Nikolaev, as well as in the Kharkov direction.
